Piston and rod question
sup all, trying to get some info.
i might be pickin up some pistons from someone and this person told me the compression is 9:5:1 JE... is there a way of telling what compression it is by looking at it? and another thing... how can i tell if its in good shape or fukked up? i havent really gotten alot of chances of looking at some in person so i wouldnt know what a bad one might look like.
another question is the rods... the set i am lookin at are crower.. and i was wondering how i could also tell if its bad or good? i mean i know its bad if its bent or whatever... but some knicks here n there... would that be ok? well any input is appreciated, but negative **** like tellin me to search.... cmon now just dont post that **** yo. but thanks for hearin me out.

On the pistons I dont know how to tell the compression of them I'm sure there is a way you can measure and calculate the Cr, but I dont think there is an easy way. As fars as damage is concerened inspect them well for cracks or chips (pitting will occur with light detonation) also be sure to inspect the ring lands and pin area very well. As far as the rods are concerned make sure the are not bent and inspect the bearing surfaces very well.
good luck
Darkness.
