compression ratio question
we have a boosted d16y7 that just messedup the piston rings
and we have vitara pistons here that we were going to throw in a d16z6 for a crx
if we put these pistons in the y7 with the oem headgasket it makes a 7.59:1 compression ratio i think this will casue issues ideling from what i can find but does any one have any input on this? has any one run any thing this low before?
or would it be a better idea for us just to replace the rings on the stock p2e pistons?

7.5:1 is incredible low when not in boost its gonna have the power and response of a lawnmower. You can always compensate with like 40psi. That low of compression will have a bad effect on the motors efficency. Shoot for 8.5-9:1.
Several people on here have posted Vitara setups and said they're not bad at all to drive off boost. I know one guy on here has a turbo ZC in a CRX or an EF Hatch that's about 7.5:1 and said off boost driving is fine. I've driven a hatch with an 8.0:1 D16Y8 and it wasn't even that bad either. Run the vitaras, they're proven to make power and it would be a total waste to run stock pistons on eagle rods.
