Default Which piston design and why?

Hi Guys:

I'm in the market for some turbo pistons and I've been sorting through a lot of OEM Honda pistons.

For my desired 9.0-9.5:1 compressio ratio, it looks like I have 2 options:

1) Flat top piston with a high compression height (piston has 0.000" piston-to-deck clearance or even sticks out about 0.010")

2) Domed piston with a lower compression height (piston has 0.025" piston-to-deck clearance)

In both cases, the compression ratio is about the same, but the design of the piston is different.

My head gasket is .048" (ZC) thick and the distance quench pads are about .075" deep.

Which one would be better for me and why?

Thanks,
Sonny

why OEM pistons?
Mark:

I am just using OEM pistons as a reference since they will allow me to select which aftermarket piston I should use. For example, the ZC has a compression height of about 1.141". The 86/87 Teg and 88-91 CRX Si has a compression height of 1.161". The 92-95 Civic Si has a compression height of 1.181".

I could use a 92-95 dished/flat piston. It would stick out of the block about .020". Or, I could use a ZC piston with a high dome.

Here are some visuals:

Look for a pistons that is designed for turbo, preferably a dished piston. Are you looking for a brand/model recommendation, or compression coupled with design ? Not to jump on the bandwagon, but JE has a newer design turbo piston with a beautiful dished design, very promising looking piston. It's not their regular forged peice.

both are bad choices, you need a dish type piston, go nuts with the CR I dont care.....because

X@, yeah I see it now, I replied to original question not to JE/SRP, i meant he should not get a flat or dome piston that all. next time I will quote the post I am replying to, newbie mistake.
