Default Pinned stock block..........

If the block is pinned (like a block guard) with stock internals, would it be able to hold up to 15-18Psi of boost easily and safely on a b18a??

no. cant go more than 8ish on stock internals and thats with tuning. block guards dont keep stock internals from failing...it only keeps ur cylinder walls from moving...but even blockguards sucks...get it sleeved.

judist priest where do some of you get your info? Safely you could get up to 10-11 psi with a good tune. After that your playing with fire but you CAN get up to 15 psi on stock internals. Just dont be surprised if it doesnt last long. A couple posts up there is a guy making 15 psi on stock internals.

Like I said 10-11 safely with a good tune. SAFC isnt a good tune IMO. After that your taking your chances. The block being pinned wont really do anything, seeing as how your rods will probably go before your cylinders.

I luv how everyone has there magic numbers that you can boost safely. I'm sure someone has gone above 15psi on a stock bottom end with out pinn the block. I think you;ll do more damage then good by pinning the block with a block guard or with drilling and placing studs in there.

If you rebuild the block completely and make sure nothing gets out of round or moves then a block guard is fine but why waste the money if its a stock bottom end. Not going to help in my opinion.

im sure u can being the fact many people have boosted that without them...but i love when people just throw a certain amount of psi that u can boost on...15 psi on a smaller less efficiant turbo will of course yeild a different HP number then on a larger more efficiant one...go by HP not psi... i would say high 200s-mid to low 300s with a conservative tune would be borderline.."stock"
