Thats from late '04, I need to take some more recent pics of my work. The 42R 4" AC/PS setup that Im starting next week should be pretty sweet. WAIC though, but we've proven that this isnt an issue when setup properly:

WAIC radiator, a must-have for a street WAIC setup

I saw someone said that it helps spool time but as I understand it (and have been told by a couple Mfg)

Good stuff: They do provide more space, the oil drain is better, and the longer runners help the system breath in the higher RPM's = more efficiency.

Trade off: The longer runners relieve more back pressure so spool time is increased somewhat (this will certainly be dependent on the housing and trim characteristics of your turbo), things heat up a bit faster because the turbo is nested on top of the runners radiating the heat.

Now the trade off seems to be worth it to most because the whole idea is to get more air in and more air out and the top mounts long runners do this more efficiently then the others.

So..... I supposed we could say that the others aren't bad (unless we include the log mani's but let's not and say we did) but the top is doing it "Better".

DISCLAIMER:Let me know if any of this is wrong guys, I'm new around here but have been lurking and learning hardcore for awhile.

James, do you have any problems with your catch can setup coming off that side of the valve cover? I'm asking because at the moment I have a ramhorn mani and running the lines off of the exhaust side of the valve cover won't work for me, mani is too close to the head. On the intake side, the valve cover doesn't have the baffle, so I'm wondering if the the can catches too much oil...

This isnt my car that is Jason Parks car you will have to get with him on it.
In his case that is a race car though and I am sure he changes it pretty frequently at the track so I really doubt in his situation it would be that bad a thing

Ill have a 42R done hopefully this weekend thatll allow AC and PS no problems. Will require radiator work, but I can do that here for a few$, or get it done locally. Small tradeoff for BIG power while staying cool

how do you get more gradual than 90 degrees? no matter how smooth the transitions from straight to straight are (how long of a radius) you still have a longer path to travel and another wall for exhaust to run into. from that pic the exhaust must be routed 90 degrees "gradually" then another x degrees to get back under the oilpan. i don't see how this would be beneficial over say a 3" 90 degree bend with a 4" radius.

dont take this as flaming that setup, i know it works, ive seen it work. just asking.
