Default PCV valve on B16 Turbo setup.

I recently accidentally snapped my PCV valve in half. I was told that I don''t need to run one. right now I have the manifold end blocked off and the other end open.

do i need to reconnect it?? or is it OK to leave it off.

also smoke is now coming out of where the breather is.

which is why I asked. because I thought the whole purpose of it was to re-circulate blow by gases.

It has been fine like this for a long time. so does this mean I have serious engine problems???

Depends on how much smoke. A quick compression test will tell you if the engine is badly blown.

if you figure it takes 10-15min for a response or two, everything has been covered before. 10-15min of searching usually nets some posotive results
