Default p72 obd2b with blue box?

ive searched and read a few posts, only to find one guy who says that its possible for the 01 gsr ecu with the greddy blue box.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1131036

"I have it on my 01 GSR. You just gotta drive it to a muffler shop after you install it and have them make an exension, so the downpipe and the cat meet up. It'll run with the blue box too, just find a pin out of an OBDII ECU and cross reference it to the instructions.
I upgraded to a Hondata S200B and P28, but it ran fine with the blue box." -SdGSR01

is just need more varification from more people to see if this is do able, before i attempt this.

Or would it be easier if i just get a obd2a from a 96-99 gsr?

. ive been reading and searching and it seems theres complications that a few people ran into...

just trying to do this right the 1st time thanks!

if you wanna do it right the first time, u might wanna go with something else other than the blue box. greddy doesn't even give it out with their kit anymore. i've read that a few ppl have tried to make it work in the past and it does. but most would just ditch the attempt and go with some other management these days.

are you thinking about running a obd2a ecu on your obd2b car? you'll need a jumper harness. and if you're gonna hassle to get a harness, might as well go obd1. i'm thinking you wanna use the blue box for CARB/emission reasons?

when i boosted my 01 gsr, i got an obd1 p72 ecu and chipped it and tunned it with crome pro and it works really nice.. the blue box, and emange are okay tools, but they are limited in what they can do

thanks for the reply guys.

yeh i wanted to use the blue box for awhile and possibly go obd1 in the near future.

i just wanted to see if my obd2b will work with the blue box for now so i can put on the kit. The blue box is the only thing thats holding me back from putting it on.

did you just plug n play your harness? my car has been acting weird since i converted to obd1 last week. but i'm not running on a chipped p72. i'm wondering if the pinouts were messed with or something to make it run weird.
