I use this stuff called CD-2 and its sold in all the autoparts store. Do not use it on a hot/warm motor. Spray it on and let it sit there for a while, then wipe.

Simple green, brake parts cleaner, and hot water used inside one of those sprayers your dad uses to spray for bugs... they are 10 bucks at walmart and work great. make sure to watch out for any electronics and especially boost control sensors/selenoids.

<--Uses Mean Grean cleaner
The turbo shouldn't need to be covered up...It has a pipe going in the inlet, and a pipe going out; along w/ everything else capped off. It gets wet some neways while driving in rainy weather.

back on topic: i'm considering paying this local company $45 to clean my engine before the turbo install. think it's worth it? FYI i have no under-engine plastic tray and both my CV boots are ripped! haha i'll be getting my money's worth! engine has never been cleaned in 7 years!!

NOTHING, MUHAHAHAHAHAAHAH, DEATH TO ELECTRONICS...
Just avoid getting water on:
Distributor (It's got a cap, but still)
Main wiring harness going in to the fuse box on the passenger hand side.
Anything that looks like a wire
Maybe injector tops

Just cover the distributor with a platstic bag, or few bags. I do this when I pressured wash it and I have never had a problem yet.
