opinions on boost controller
Someone was telling me that the Apexi SUPER AVC TYPE-R was CRAP. Is this true? I was wanting to get one because of all the extra monitoring devices that it has and because it is electrical, am i wasting my money?

Re: opinions on boost controller (Aeka GSR)
I really like mine, I could not live without the peak hold function on it.
It takes work to get the thing to maintain boost consistently, though.
I'd buy it again for sure.

i also just asked around and i heard that sometimes it gets stuck in learning mode and then overboosts the turbo because it's not opening the wastegate in time.

Mine has never been stuck in learning mode.
You just need to make sure the start duty is set to a number that is VERY close to the actual target duty.... and then just drive the car.
People run into issues with the AVC-R when they try to run really high boost on really low rated boost springs (aka, 18psi on 4psi wastegate spring...)

Re: opinions on boost controller (dustin)
so is it better to run a high boost spring in the WG over a low boost spring when using a boost controler?
Also, what are some of the functions of Apex SUPER AVC-R?

Re: opinions on boost controller (TurboGsR.com)
No it should not buzz at all.
I highly recommend the AVC-R.
You do not have to be a rocket-scientist to use it. It is fairly easy IF you read the directions.
I love the features it has . Some of my favorite are:
Boost different amounts at different RPM's.
Boost different amounts in different GEARS. (Meaning in 1st gear I actually turn down my boost so that I can get traction, then after I lock up it hits full boost)

Re: opinions on boost controller (TurboIntegra)
the only reason why it doesnt work good for them... is because they didnt know how to use it right or probably didnt do a good job of installing it. those controllers are the best ones on the market. i prefer the profecB. turn the **** til you get the boost you want, while sittin in the car listening to some beats.
