open dump waste gate
I agree with sanman here, my old crx with open dump (no tube at all off the wg) and 3in open downpipe wasn't all that loud unless i was totally romping it. When I was doing that it sounded pretty nasty, I have vids on youtube of it as well
global warming is a myth back pressure is not. i hope all the master techs and regular techs at uti know what there teaching.... i would hate to hear my parents wasted 30gs for nothing.
you must be one of the types that believes somethings true because someone has a theory and it makes sense?
a engine can't scavenge without back pressure. learn about automotive theory before you say something isn't true that makes a engine work properly.

idk where your from but in the world im in you get what you pay for. theres a big difference between learning **** off of wikipidea and learning straight from information provided directly from the manufacture and from shops.
like i said dont believe in back pressure? then run your car open header for a few months and see how long your engine lasts.

And yes, rational/logical thinking tends to lead to things that are true...

In the world you're in there's also things called scams and ponzi schemes. Read up on Bernie Madoff and UTI a little bit more.
I have like 6 friends who went to UTI and they all said it was the biggest waste of time and money of their lives. They all learned the same crap they learned at Vocational Tech school for free, but with added hands-on experience. I don't know about you, but if I want hands on experience, I learn it myself by reading and doing, not by paying 30 grand to some crap-*** organization that tries to make themselves look like some sort of Ivy league university. My buddy who graduated still doesn't know how to unseal a transmission, while you can learn how to do that in 5 minutes of reading a book.
Also, their "guaranteed job placement" bullshit that they propagate to all their perspective graduates is a complete LIE. Yes, you pretty much have guaranteed job placement in the industry SOMEWHERE, but even I can get a job as a mechanic or tuner having no 'formal' schooling what so ever. Graduating from Mercedes-Benz tech doesn't mean that you will land a job at Mercedes making 6 figures. You might, but you most likely won't. They sugar coat and twist the crap out of reality so much to make all the new college bound, naive youngins think that they will instantly make 6 figures when they graduate. That's how a lot of colleges and universities and tech schools make money. Broken promises, lies, and sugar coated propagation.
Sorry if my post comes off as negative and pessimistic, but that's just the reality of it. A positive attitude, willingness to learn more for yourself, and skills you can demonstrate and provide will get you farther than a piece of paper saying you graduated from UTI.
Of course, if you wanted to be a doctor or a surgeon, then you will need to go to school for a long time. But that really IS a guaranteed 6 and multiple 6 figure income.

I will be more then happy to drive around open headers butt i live in CA. Why do you tink all these cars at the track run open headers or cut outs? What happens when u go from a stock exhaust to a 2.5" exhuast. U lose some torque because ure engine just started running leaner making more power with the biger exhuast. U get that torque back by tunning ure engine to the correct air fuel ratios. I will beet you that once i take of my 2.5" exhuast. The engine will start running leaner. Wich is already an indicator that the car is making more power because there is less restriction to the exhaust flow. Add more fuel and walla the lean condition has disapered. FYI i have been runing tri-y headers into a straight pipe 2.5" exhaust setup for over 5 k miles now and not a single hik up. I have a wideband sensor and i know how mi car runs. I have EMS new in a box if i do decide to tune it for more power but i know my car runs great of a stock gsr ecu. Damn why cant more ppl chime in on this subject. I really dont want to polute the forums with more pointless treads.
first of all i had two roommates at UTI one works as a head tech at a dealer back home the other got into BMW and is now a BMW tech, which by the way you can't get into unless you take the training program.
second of all yes nobody can learn everything through school without hands on training and learning your nothing. which is why you get trained on automotive theory then once you actually know how a car works you go get a job at a dealer or shop and learn how to actually work on them.
third of all im not saying your going to crack your valves from rapid cooling where the hell did that come from? lack of back pressure can cause valves to become loose and develop a tick.
fourth of all if you have a programmed fuel injected car like the rest of us do when you chop your exhaust and allow more air flow the ecu corrects the air fuel ratio. so a tune is not needed unless your chopping off your cats then you need to delete the down stream o2 sensor if it applys.
as for the CA situation sucks. here there are not emissions testing. just noise and modification laws. so i can drive my car around with 2.5 straight pipe running 12:1 air-fuel and not have any issues.

no offense to you man but it underlines the words you spell wrong. also when you learn another language you have grammar issues. spelling is a whole different world.
More importantly, did you seriously just bump 3 year old thread to say that?
As to why you're wrong - fluid dynamics 101. Air velocity (how fast or slow air goes through) doesn't go down with a muffler. Air VOLUME will decrease. Flow rate is a constant, so velocity must increase.
First off, you're wrong. I'll get back to that in a minute though.

About time to lock this shiz up NO?
