Build an exhaust. I have open DP and I hate it! It is very loud. Not quite a loud as a N/A Honda with open exhaust but still too loud for daily driving.

to some it sounds bad ***. my buick was gnarly. had a 3" fenderwell dump and drove that daily till it kept shitting up my right front wheel. but i think the sound bouncing off of the firewall is a little too obnoxious. if it were like a side exit, that would be bad ***.

Fool! ppl are doing new things everyday.. LIKE running open downpipe. There opinions and pics help me also. I mainly wanna see pics of the setup anyways.. vids if possible. If you dont like it, don't view the thread.. plain and simple. Keeps you drama DRAGqueens out and keeps the MAIN subject going. If you don't have anything to contribute please don't post then.. thank you. By the way, the previous searches done by ADSEGUY only showed 1 pic and the vids didnt even work because they were OLD but I appreciate his help. As for the other ppl who replied to the TOPIC thank you very much for your help.

My friend runs a straight through exhaust (no muffler/cat/resonator) on his 4g63 and it sounds bas ***, I ran an open DP on my turbo ZC and it was loud as stink, so I dont know what to tell you.

i'm completely new to open pipe exhaust so you can consider this a new opinion...
its kinda loud on the freeway, but not that buzzy, drone that you would hear on a regular NA muffler or high dollar BS. its like... music... turned up half volume all the time. its not any louder than muffed NA cars... except when your boosting of course.

I post this any time i can.

I dont konw how nice the cops are where these people who run open dp are...

but I know for a fact that as soon as a cop heard the massive noise produced by the car, he would begin searching for this noise as a curious human if not as a police officer. When he saw it was coming from my lowered honda civic, he would allready know he was pulling me over. I would if i was a cop.

its loud, and annoying.

this video is of a 6 inch long downpipe, at full boost, with exhaust and no dump tube its still just as loud at full boost as it is without a downpipe.

mine sounds good w/ open dp, not raspy at all. i have a 3" exhaust ready to be put on though. when ever i drive it im paranoid about getting pulled over because of the noise.

I ran my car w/ an Open DP for a while(2 months or so) and the only part that got annoying was having to tell people I'd call them back cause' I couldn't hear them well enough to carry a conversation but other than that, It's good stuff

the best way to determine if you like open downpipe is to just try it out

if you like it, leave it that way

if it is too loud, then finish an exhaust

it is loud, but is not too loud to drive around (at least long enough to see if you like)

I'm too old....open DP was cool for about 5 minutes, then I wanted my test pipe back...
