Default Ok to remove a/c bracket???

I'm currently installing a .48/.60 T3 in my '92 civic DX (D15b7). I'm having some issues with clearance for the internal wastegate and was told to remove the a/c bracket. I figured it was weird that my car had an a/c bracket because it never had a/c. I removed the bracket, now people are telling me that it also acts as a motor mount, which it certainly looks like. How many of you have removed this bracket with no problems? Should I put it back on or will I be ok without it?

Dont run without it. You can cut it to make room for the WG actuator. I have done it several times with no trouble.

if you take it out, you will be putting more stress on the other mounts

well on a couple cars I just had to grind down a the ridge by the upper left hand hole...used a 4.5" angle grinder on those. Some others I had to really take out some material so I used a sawzall.

if you have good motor mount inserts you can remove both lower mounts

Disregard that.

Yeah, just cut the bracket. The bracket is huge - you can saw off the top 3/4 of it which will still leave the two bolts at the bottom for the trans mount.

ehh think about how the force is applied to that bracket. I would not cut both of the top mounting holes off. More than likely if you just cut the upper left one off you will have room and still retain most of the strength. I wouldn't go further than that though.

At least for Integras, there's a JDM (Type R?) aluminum piece that doesn't have the AC mount on it.
