Remocing AC - JDM aluminum AC bracket or no AC bracket at all?
I removed my AC last weekend, with that, The AC condenser is, of course, on a bracket that is bolted onto the block. This bracket extends out towards the wheel and is attached to a weak and small version of motor mount attached to the frame, which to me, seems to not do much, but if I was to reinforce the mount , perhapst make it a solid one it may help.
Any advantages to keeping the AC bracket? If yes Iwould get the JDM aluminum 2.4lbs bracket and chuck the 7 lbs stock one.
Thanks
I did a search all I was able to find was how to remove the AC none mentioned anything abotu the bracket.

Do not remove the bracket. Leave the original one on there or switch to the aluminum if you want.

Exactly. That bracket serves as a vibration dampener as there is one on each side.

Thanks for the replies it is all god info.
So I guess stiffening the bushing is out of the question as well.

i know a person that did not have that mount, his v/c would hit the hood when he takes off.
the only time i have seen someone run without it sucessfully was with the use of solid mounts on the eng, tranny, rear.

You could still get a harder mount, insert, or solid mount for it.

Yea they make poly inserts for those mounts. I have a set in my GF's gsr. You will feel more vibration though. I think the ones I have are made by Energy Suspension or something like that.
