show some proof!! dont be filling the forums with improper info

if you are familiar with metals and their metallurgy, you will know the tensil strenght on the ARP studs is way beyond the pressure that it will see on a Honda engine under any kind of detonation
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">8740 CHROME MOLY: Until the development of today’s modern alloys, chrome moly was popularly considered a high strength material. Now viewed as only moderate strength, 8740 chrome moly is seen as a good tough steel, with adequate fatigue properties for most racing applications, but only if the threads are rolled after heat-treatment, as is the standard ARP production practice. Typically, chrome moly is classified as a quench and temper steel, that can be heat-treated, and delivers tensile strengths between 180,000 and 210,000 psi.</TD></TR></TABLE>

on a Honda engine with uncontrolled detonation, with 10 studs holding that head down, those studs arent the point of failure
the threads on the block are either damaged, the head wasnt torqued properly, a sleeve might have vibrated and broke the headgasket seal, a sleeve might have cracked, head might be warped, but the bolts stretching??? HAHAHAHA...... NOT under those conditions

I do however have another problem, Ive snapped a second arp stud

I dont know whats going on with these studs, they are absolutely bottomed out, I torqued in the correct pattern to 25 ft/lbs, then 55 ft/lbs and everything was fine. When I stepped up to 80 ft/lbs the middle lower stud snapped. Just like the last one, flush with the bottom of the nut

I dont get why they break, the nut after the 55ft/lbs torque didnt feel to get any tighter through the 1/4 turn I slowly brought it through and then it snapped.</TD></TR></TABLE>

so the nut was at the bottom of the threads??
