Ok Big Problem - Overflow EXPLODING When I Boost Hard. Solution?
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">maybe you dont understand the situation, I live in a butfuck town, no real stores. I have to work monday morning 35miles from home with no parents to drive me</TD></TR></TABLE>
I live 7km from a town with less than 20,000 people, and I can get a head gasket on the next day when I order one. So that is just a bad excuse.
Take the bus to work, heck might be more reliable than driving in a car which is about to explode in the first place.

I dont know whats going on with these studs, they are absolutely bottomed out, I torqued in the correct pattern to 25 ft/lbs, then 55 ft/lbs and everything was fine. When I stepped up to 80 ft/lbs the middle lower stud snapped. Just like the last one, flush with the bottom of the nut
I dont get why they break, the nut after the 55ft/lbs torque didnt feel to get any tighter through the 1/4 turn I slowly brought it through and then it snapped.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I have never had this happen. I would say your torque wrench is out of calibration

Is he using one or is he actually pounding it 55 times with his foot?

Yeah ive got a wideband and the car actually runs rich in boost, about 10.9 til about 10psi then it holds 11.3-11.5 to 15
My torque wrench is new but maybe its just to big, I dont think that would matter, but its 30inches long

I just read how you checked your head with a straight edge. You got that part right, but you forgot to mention the part where you slid your feeler gauge underneath of your straight edge all the way across. You did check it with a feeler gauge?
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by PINKS »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You honestly believe I am running to much timing with it though? Seems fairly conservative compared to other maps Ive looked at</TD></TR></TABLE>
other people have different setups. Dont risk another headgasket. Take it to the dyno and find out where the timing needs to be set. I'm running about the same timing on 10psi as you are running on 15psi with my z6head/y8block setup. Anymore timing and i can hear knock through my det cans i made. Sohc's just cant take much timing.

I wnt with koyo because it's bigger than the others, the end tanks are larger and flow more, and it's lifetime warranty. i got mine from http://www.radiator.com</TD></TR></TABLE>
BS! I made 616whp on a stock radiator pushing 28psi on a T4/T67. Get otu of here with that ****!

Yes I checked with a feeler gauge and I couldnt fit anything other than a .003" piece through, well within spec
You guys will have to enlighten me on the timing though, no I dont have access to a dyno within 800miles

What kills me is there are tons of other posts here on HT that people desperately need help with car problems and nobody posts in their threads (including myself Im lazy haha) but this guy has had his problem with his car diagnosed over the internet like 50 times and in multilple threads multipule times and on different forums as well. I dont understand how his threads get past the first page let alone 6??? I was gonna tell him once again what he needed to do, but realized that its already been beat to death. I think this guy just likes to see his owns posts.
You do know that I swapped headgaskets, flushed my cooling system, retuned my car, made a new manifold and downpipe all within this thread though right man
Alot of peoples questions dont get answerred because they are asking **** about wings and differetn sized turbos, this is a problem that people run into aprently and I was WRONG trying to fix everything else and appreciate the help I got steering me in the right direction
Thank you

WOW HOLY expletive.....He finally relized that if he listened to all the SAME answers it would fix his problem. AND I HIGHLY doubt that you "BUILT" other motors let alone the one in your car. If you had the experiance to build motors you would have known to use lube on the arp's, and most of all, not to re-use a headgasket. Oh and if you had any common sense you'd know not to go and take your car out for drives with it fucked up like it is. Do the world a favor and get your self a stock car and drive it, dont modify it AT ALL. AND MOVE THE expletive OUT OF THE IMBREED CAPITOL OF THE WORLD.... expletive YOU ARE STUPID
Caps mean im yelling.
