Re: oil weight
whatever brand you like...All engine oils (that you should be buying) that are available to consumers meet or exceed the API specification for your engine. This means that they will perform better than what your engine requires.
IMHO, I don't recommend Royal Purple. Their base stock is comparable to mobil 1 and you are paying more for it.
If you want quality synthetic oil, I would say stick with Amsoil or Redline
If you want conventional...most will do, I just pick a good name brand like Castrol, pensoil, Valvoline, or mobil.
But what do I know...I don't go to school for chemical testing, I have only read reviews online so that information may not be true, I am a certified ASE parts specialist for Passenger cars and light trucks, and base most of what I just said on personal preference.
In the end, you should be fine. if you engine is happy with it, you should be too.

Re: oil weight
Rotella is what alot of people run and have good success with it, especially if you are changing your oil on a frequent basis.
I run Brad Penn 20w-50 in my car because I run e85 as well as looser p2w clearances and looser bearing clearances. Ethanol doesnt mix with oil so the added protection that the additive package in that oil provides, is necessary for me. Brad Penn is relatively inexpensive if you know where to look as well

Re: oil weight
Up to this point I always used Valvoline 10w30, but it looks like ill be making the switch over to Rotella finally. Also the price is way cheaper than all the other brands, even for the Rotella full synthetic blend. Wow! I cant believe its actually a win win situation for once.
