Anyone know what muffler they use in their 3" turbo kit?

One thing I don't like is the price and the other thing is its not a true 3" exhaust

Skunk2 makes a 3". Also what is not true 3" about? All exhaust is measured in OD

I heard Skunk2 is very loud. I want kinda quiet and deep. Not the typical Honda sound you hear out of most.

There aren't very many videos on youtube of it but here is the best one I found...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plvyT53pZqY

It still has that fart can sound to it alittle IMO. However it sounds better than some. I think it needs to be alittle more mellow sound and it would be what I wanted. Here is the same car under load. (I think some of the typical Honda sound is from the external WG)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR3JC...el_video_title

In this video it sounds alot like an open downpipe would sound if I had to guess..

Ktellar 3" piping kit along with a magnaflow round muffler in the mid pipe and a magnaflow oval muffler at the rear, very quiet, very deep tone. and cost less than thermal. Ive run themal on my dc2 and it was considerably louder than my current exhaust system

Actually that is one of the main setups I was thinking about running. But I have no idea how it sounds. I've never heard a video of it.

Same here but with dynomax ultraflo mufflers. I love it but I wanna change the rear muffler so something just for ***** and giggles. I do have an exhaust question and it has probably been covered. I would like to route my dump tube into my dp but not sacrifice too much power. I have read that as long as it enters at least 18" away from the turbo it should be good.... Can anyone confirm?

That would be awsome. I'm more wondering about part throttle sound both inside the car and outside. But any video would be nice.

Why don't you like the Ultraflos? I have them on my 5.0 and I'm MEH about the sound. Just doesn't much of a "mustang sound". I've been told my car doesn't sound like a Mustang.

i was thinking of going with this setup as well but stuck between going with the magnaflow or a vibrant ultra-quiet and a vibrant stealth muffler. any input?

Oh I love the ultraflo's on my car. I just might be doing some experiments with pipe sizing and could possibly change mufflers in the process. Mine sounds very deep now without a resonator muffler and I just need to extend the pipe out past my bumper. Right now it is about 2" inside and drones a bit on the highway.

Dynomax ultraflo mufflers are a great alternative to magnaflo and vibrant IMO. I had a magnaflo years back and it lasted just short of a year before it started getting loud. It was on a N/A stock b series and my dynomax has been on for almost 2 years and hasn't changed in tone.

+1 on some piping and mufflers/ resonators of your choice from summit. Could probably fit 2 decent size bottles and a main muffler. Just get it welded up by a shop.

I'm thinking that is the sound I want. Sounds good Turbo-LS! Would it be too much to ask for a video of light, medium, and wide open throttle from outside the car as you drive away?

What is the exact setup?

When i have some time to get back to my garage i can try if i have a friend with me. I have external wg dump on mine, but the dump tube is small so its not vey loud. I'm able to get away with small Wg dump tube because of excellent wg placement on the manifold, some manifolds will creep with to small of a tube. I plan on making it larger though cause i like the scream of the engine when it opens lol

Its ktellar 3" tubing kit, Magnaflow round muffler in the mid pipe and magnaflow oval muffler in the rear. 3" from turbo back. here are the part numbers i used for mufflers on summitracing.com

Mid pipe muffler 12867 summits number MPE-12867
Rear muffler 11249 summits number MPE-11249

Yeah it is open and pretty short. I thought that the longer it is the more prone it will be to creep. I had mine about 10" longer before and it sounded really nice!

I dont think length will effect it, In my old hatch i had a really long dump tube out the side of the front of the car and it didnt creep at all. Depends on wg placement on the manifold and size more then anything. My dump tube is REALLY small lol like some crushbent 1 5/8 pipe from autozone lol
