Oil seeping into compressor side
I have a Garrett t3, and oil is seeping into the compressor side. not to much like half a quart a month. I was wondering if a Oil Inlet Regulator would solve this problem. I was thinking it would because the turbo has very little shaft play so i think simply to much oil is being fed to the turbo.
here is the ebay link to the Oil Inlet Regulator .

yeah we had the same thing with are T3T4 BIG to much oil and it would burn but if it is come in to the compressor side you may have a an oil leak we used a Nitrous jet with a really small hole and it works great but dose your turbo leak like this ?

sounds silly but make sure your air filter isn't clogged, if the turbo can't pull enough air through the filter it will pull oil through the seal.

Re: Oil seeping into compressor side (darkdayz)
Oil would seep through and get in my ic piping, and it would leave like a soot in the piping. My question is will the ebay one work? or dose anyone know another maker?

I had the same problem a while back, my intercooler had a ton of oil in it by the time I noticed.
Definately get an oil restrictor. I don't know anything about that one on eBay, but it looks like it would work. I used one I bought from ATP turbo that worked great for me.
Also, even after you put the restrictor on there, keep an eye on your charge pipes from time to time. By the time I noticed, the compressor seal was pretty shot and continued to spew oil into my charge piping until I rebuilt it.

The one from ATP, I assume you have to put this on the turbo side? Or can it go on the sandwich adapter? (I have zero room on the turbo side )
Also, what are you guys running for a return size?

Re: Oil seeping into compressor side (ladysman)
I had the ATP fitting right at the turbo:
I'm almost certain that the restrictor fitting is supposed to be installed at the turbo.
I run a -10an return line. I have the push fit kit that Fast-Turbo sells.

Re: Oil seeping into compressor side (EJ1 wilcox)
Here's what it says on ATP's site:
"Oil inlet restrictor for T series 1/8" NPT. Oil inlet restrictor for all T3, T3/T4, T04, T72 etc. Turbos with built-in oil restrictor (of .060 hole size). Installed at the oil inlet on turbo to reduce max oil pressure going into the turbo to prevent turbo seal damage due to excess pressure. Input is 1/8" NPT male and output is 1/8 NPT female."
http://www.atpturbo.com/Mercha...e=OIL
It might work if you put it somewhere else down the line, but I don't know enough about fluid dynamics to say for sure.
Oh, also, some turbos come with internal oil pressure restrictors. But I don't know how to tell other than by just looking at the inlet.

Re: Oil seeping into compressor side (ladysman)
i used a restrictor but it didnt help a bit.
i replaced the turbo to another one. (used)
and the new used one was smoking too without the restrictor.
but when i installed the restrictor it stopped compeatly.
i used the .060 one(not the atp, a machine shop did it for me cause im from israel and shipping takes 2 weeks.)
glad if i could help.
