Default Turbo owners with oil catch can?

I found some oil vapors (black gunk) on my compressor turbine side . Seeing this stuff on my turbo makes me think it ain't healthy at all. Will I benefit 100% if I use the oil catch can and won't be seeing the oil vapors anymore? Will an oil breather air filter do just fine? Does the engine really needs to breath out of the intake vs. atmospheric pressure?

Thanks...

I'd give you pretty good odds that the oil in your compressor is from a bad oil seal in your turbo.

What is the max reccommended oil pressures for the turbo center? I read that 30psi is the max. I had a 1/4" oil feed line, but after much thought, I changed back to a 1/8" to restrict the flow a bit due to almost 80psi oil pressure put out by most hondas..........

DB8 do you got a turbo timer or let the puppy cool off before shut down? I know you're gonna say yes but worth asking anyways.

Boost. At this point, haven't installed the turbo timer yet but I do have to wait a minute or two before I shut her down even if it's driven hard or not. Do you have a work around, bro?

Man I really don't have one...was there really that much gunk in there? or just a little film of it? If it is the seals then it be time to send back that turbo to get rebuilt due to whomever ragged it out before you had it, or just didn't treat the turbo properly with maintenance and allowing it to cool down or prolonged boost runs.. Hope things can work out man.

Nick.. Let me know if I can be of any help dude

One more thing to check. Is the oil return line from the turbo to the oil pan partially plugged? Also if it is installed too low in the pan, oil backing up in the return line will make it appear as if you have a bad turbo seal.

As far as I know, the oil return plug from the oil pan is installed at the correct location per GREDDY's instruction. As far as the oil return line partially plugged in, I'll have to double check. Can that actually create oil vapors?

Boost. Thanks for the offer man. Prolly I'll just have to wait for a year then a turbo rebuilt. It created a thin coat of gunk in about a month and half and prolly a little bit more inside the turbo. I was watching the turbo spool with the filter pipe off and it looks normal to me without hesitations or clogging. If it's really the seal on the turbo, i'll just gonna keep my eyes open and be cautious.

OBTW, prying off that restrictor plate made my turbo louder. I love it. It sounds like theres a hurricane coming. lol

Peace Out.

i always get very little film so every couple weeks i always play it safe if not every month and make sure everything is cool with the car and make sure the wheel still spins freely and just keep it clean. BTW when ya put that bigger dp and get rid of the cat you will definitely like the sound then
