Default Oil return line size and type?

Right now i got -10 AN compressor fittings that been leaking forever.. i'm sick of adding oil and switching to rubber line with clamps and heatwrap. Besides, braided return line is rubber on the inside.. so not much difference at least it will seal

Now, heres my question. I searched and some say to use 5/8 some say 3/8.. which should I get? Also, would red heater hose be good enough for oil?

Thanks

some say 5/8 and some say 3/8 for what????

Use a hose that is rated for oil and can withstand the temps. Anywhere you find the right hose will be able to tell you if it is rated for these things.

The rest of your question I can't figure out.
