Default Oil Pan fitting for Oil return question...

Can someone show me how they attached the circled fitting to the oil pan?

I was going to weld it but the fitting is made out of steel and if im not mistaken our oil pans are made out of aluminum and I asked a professional welder and he told me that you couldnt weld aluminum to steel.

Can someone clarify this for me.

Thanks,

Jon

Oil pan is made out of steel, but if you have an aftermarket aluminum one just get an aluminum AN fitting that is the same size.

The welder guy is correct. You can't weld different metals together. However, they can be bonded with something like JB Weld. That's whats holding my return fitting to my oil pan.

EDIT: Looks like you're setup will look pretty so maybe going the ghetto JB Weld route is not such a good idea for you.

Depends what kind of motor you have. I believe most are steel but the d16y8 is aluminum.

D16Y8 is made out of aluminum. I have the weld on fitting available in Steel and Aluminum.

Just mention that when you place your order..

Thanks stan. I am looking at getting that piece the same as the oil pan for ease of installing/welding.

Thanks Stan
