oil on outside edge of compressor wheel?

oil on outside edge of compressor wheel?
well my car has been parked for about 3 months and i was taking the turbo off last night and when i took the elbow and filter off the intake side of the turbo to check the compressor wheel for play there was oil on the outside of the wheel. not on the wheel and there was no shaft play. did i blow a seal or is this just the oil that goes around the outside of the compressor wheel to keep it spinning?
