Default Oil in my intercooler?

Well I pulled apart my intercooler piping about a week ago, and noticed a bit of oil on the cool side of the intercooler. The turbo is clean, as well as the hot side pipes. The Turbo itself is a precision sc34 which is brand new with about 5000 miles on it. There is also a buildup of oil under the BOV. The motor is a B16 with wiseco 9:1 pistons and eagle Rods. Any ideas? I am hoping the turbo seal is ok

Drain seems to be fine...I had a clear line on for a while and it seemed fine...just a little oil running at idle, but much more when the engine revved.

How much will it cost me to get a new seal? is it something I can replace myself?
Is it really possible to have a seal go bad after only 5000 miles?

I thought the same thing, thats why i didnt think it was the seal...If it matters the engine was running with a lot of piston slap...loose tolerances, that is the reason i am pulling it apart. The pcv isnt run back into the turbo inlet either, but the hot side is completely dry...it wouldnt be hot enough to have the oil vaporized would it so it condensed on the cool side?

Maybe it was just oil from when they process mandrel bends or just some that happend to be in the intercooler does it look like motoroil?

Just a thought anyway.

Unfortunately it is motor oil...The piping was allready off the car once for the engine build.

Just had a thought...the turbo, and new engine were broken in with regular oil, and this seems to have started after I switched to synthetic...Mobil 1 15-50, the turbo stuff...could this be part of the problem..would it go away maybe if I went back to regular oil?

Thanks for the replys
