Default oil drain line HELP!

if u have an upward flow with a kink can that ruin ur turbo? it is not steel braided! i had this setup going for over a month and it caused a leak and more smoke than usual. however i recently changed it, without a upward flow but the hose is much longer and has a small bend. there is no leak and not as much smoke. is this safe? i have the hose tied up with wire so its not close to the ground and is VERY close to the downpipe! i tapped the pan myself and may have done it in the wrong place. the tap is on the upper half of the oil pan! PLEASE give me ur advice on what can happen or solutions!

post pics so we can be more helpful. and there is no "normal" amount of smoke. your car should not be smoking at all. you dont want any kinks in the line.

you dont want the return line flowing upwards EVER! since it's gravity fed.
your old drain line was leaking oil because the oil was backing up in the line, and the only place it could escape was thru the seals in the turbo, hence, smoking/burning oil.

get some heat wrap and wrap your downpipe, mainly where the return line is closest to it.
you could also wrap the return line with the spark plug covers, the ones that protect it from heat.
