200 is quite feasible.

200 on stock internals is the normal.

Wow thats a lot more than i thought after seeing that Edelbrock kit making a little over 180whp, it seems strange that a SC would make more, but whatever.

OK i am done now

I'm pretty sure they don't make 200whp on average. His just saying it's possible on a stock SOHC.

The eldelbrock kit uses shitty fuel management, and a crappy manifold design, and a tiny turbo. Compareing that kit to a jrsc is like apples to oranges.

yeah 200 hp is considered great numbers for the setup. Expect to get around 145-180 depending on the age of motor ect ect.

cool dont be afraid to talk on this thread, lets keep this thread going

Usually when a company releases a kit they put it on a car that is very healthy and they usually get great numbers that most people don't(higher usually).

As for most SOHC's weather they be turbo or SC'd i havent seen many make past 200whp FOR THE MOST PART, while i am very aware that SOHC's are very capabile of making decent power levels, i just dont see 200whp being the average; expecially since people with b-series motors on JRSC usually make about 190-220whp. JMO

Well said. Well streetwerkz has a setup that we are hoping to push past 200 whp, on stock internals lets see how long it lasts before it blows. Im sure his current setup is around 160 or so.

Lower numbers are because of the small m45 blower. Get rid of that w/ solid tuning and your definately gonna make 200 or more.

Totally true, which goes to show it is all about your setup and a good tune . I dont really care to have crazy hp numbers, well not now that is. But with everyset up and a good tune you can get great numbers, and nothing better then whooping up on others with a sohc.

Average I've seen is 170-180 WHP... those are considered good numbers. On shitty fuel management, expect around 160-ish WHP.

I have an automatic, so I can't use it to compare with the 5spd's. With a 9psi pulley, E-manage, good tune and water injection, it made 145-148 WHP on an automatic... Should be around 180 WHP if it was on a 5spd.

I just like the fact that I can whoop most bolt-on Civic Si's or slightly walk on a GSR. Well, other stuff like stock 1.8T's, Prelude automatics, early gen Maximas/Accord V6's/Camry, and cars you bump into in regular traffic
