Just as it says, possible? I'm going to be boosting so I cant afford to detonate my motor.
If not, how about this...I understand afc causes the timing to advance when you lean the fuel, soo....if I retard the timing mechanically (odb1) enough to give me enough headroom for increased timing at high rpm, then I should be golden?

You could run two different ROMS. More facts are needed to help you out. You say you're boosting your motor, but is it a d-series, B? What kind of internals, if any? You shouldn't need to have two modes of running your car, one good tune'll do you, just don't boost your motor too much in relative to what your block can handle. When in doubt, run it richer
msd makes a boost timing master that will retard ignition from 1-3or4? degrees per pound of boost. summitracing .com sales it. their is more than one version for stock or aftermarket ign. cost is about 185 I think but if you have a computer uberdata is cheaper and easier
