notice something about turbo Hondas
Hondas with big turbine housing (.82) make vary good HP numbers on the dyno and run high trap speeds at the track but if u calculate mph and HP to the weight of the car 1/4 mile time is all ways slow then it should be for the horsepower there making
and u see other Hondas with smaller turbine(.63) run better 1/4 mile times then u would think by calculating HP to the weight
it must be where your turbo make its most power throu the rpm band

kinda like this guy who went 11.9 w/ only 325whp in an integra, 114mph trap, maybe 116 actually, but hes running a T04B, kinda the same concept..

DIRep972 like u only 230whp and can at least a 12.9 on slicks
u runing a 13.3 on street tires

Re: notice something about turbo Hondas (DLB1994)
it seems a turbo integra can break 11's with a good driver and around 320whp, but to go faster then that.. its not as much about power as it is about suspesion/traction.. One car running 115 mph may run 11.90 while another car running(the 434whp one) runs 11.3 @130... (i think the one your talking about is a GSR not type R but is yellow).. then other guys are running 11.6ish @120, it seems its just really hard after that point to get the ET's down.. and this is limited to our ability to not only run 1.7-1.8 60's.. Even the pro FWD guys are pulling at best 1.5 60's and this makes a big difference on ET.. thats why u dont see many street set up cars breaking 10's, u need a **** load of mph to break a 10 w/ only a 1.8 60'..

Re: notice something about turbo Hondas (hondaswaper)
Even though this is FI...the Erick's racing civic runs a 10.602(as of late) and it's 268hp all motor...the car is stripped to hell and maybe a tube frame, but it's only got 150ft-lb. The thing is that the torque curve is completely flat for about 4-5000rpm...god-damned beautiful. so, lower horsepower, and torque, but it's just BIG AND WIDE, baby. very inspiring.

Re: notice something about turbo Hondas (DLB1994)
This is exactly what i was getting at when i was saying i have 5500-6000rpm of power band, using 11:1 compression. I dont have any track times yet, but i am expecting mid 11's on slicks with a tad over 300whp (Built b16a). This is in a full interior eg6 hatch. High compression doesnt allow me to run high boost (8lbs on the street, 12lbs on c16 race gas) but utilizing the powerband is essential for a street driven car, as well as a track only car. I will take a high compression turbo car anyday over a low compression one.

Re: notice something about turbo Hondas (94hondahybrid)
So why not use a Greddy turbo with the big intercooler and run high boost? I think that would be ideal over a t3/t4.

Re: notice something about turbo Hondas (SuperchargedGSR)
18psi on a greddy 18G and 18psi on a t4e are not the same thing. The t4 is much bigger, and flows much more air at the same psi...
Greddy kits are garbage if you actually wanna go fast.
EDIT: If you have a big turbo, you can still get good ET's. It's just having the car running on boost at all times. With a two-step rev-limiter you can keep the motor floored at a certain rpm which keeps the motor on boost while it's staged. With a good launch and slicks you'll be in high rpm and already be spooled so it's all good.

Re: notice something about turbo Hondas (MaxBoost)
and if u have ever notice big turbos make high peak HP but low torque and small turbo make very high torque but low peak HP
i think torque is really comes in to play in these Hondas more then people think
