Ok, heres the deal. I bought my friends hatch. It has a fully built motor, a ghetto turbo kit, and was tuned by Evans. Car was laying out 370 at the wheels, and would have been much higher had he had a bigger snail and injectors. My boy got out of the scene after the car took a doo doo. So I snatched it up.

Heres what happened. He was driving one night, on it pretty good, on it but not full boost, when all of a sudden she fell on her face. After that the car was seeing maybe 2lbs of boost max.

He has checked all the piping, the couplers, the intercooler, the mbc and whatnot. The car runs fine. The motor is sleeved and is built to take some ****, and the car is tuned pretty mild. The shaft play on the turbo is also no worse then it was when he put it on.

My thing is, where should I go from here? I do know stuff, but I just want to be sure that we are not overlooking anything stupid. I just want to get it boosting again until I have the cash for a nicer kit, and the injectors that Evans wants on it to tune it again.

Hole in the piping intercooler inlet manifold leaking boost you have a boost leak.

thats what happened to me. watch the fin spin and rev it look for a big jump in the shaft..

agreed.. this happened to me.. I bought a new turbo and vola

check for leaks before you fork over the cash for a new turbo
