Default Not Boosting As Well

The other day i was driving aggressivly and i looked at the boost gauge and it wasnt going up as fast as usual. Im running a d16 w/ a greddy kit with IC. Im only running 5.5 psi of boost.

Anyways the problem is that i dont hit full boost untill almost 5k RPM when it used to hit full boost a little after 3k. Also a little before 6k the boost drops to about 2-3 psi. Lastly i cannot get full boost in 1st gear.

The car still pulls good. The boost gauge is at 20vac or so at idle and 0 when engine is off. I have noticed in the past that it pulls less near redline. although i never noticed the boost drop. I just thought that the bluebox was running real rich and it was killing me up top.

Here are the things that i thought might be wrong.

1. Boost leak
2. exhaust leak between turbo and mani
3. wastegate actuator is messed up
4. boost gauge is broken
5. unknown animal crawled in IC and died.

I have checked most the IC piping and it looks good. there are a very spots i could cuz i didnt have time to take the bumpercover off. I am thinking that my problems are caused by a leak in the exhaust between turbo and mani because i dont have a gasket there . But then i thought... why would boost drop in the higher RPMs if i had a leak there?

i did a compression check too results werent great but weret that bad.

165-170 175-177

Any help is welcome

one last thing. does anyone know what gasket would go between the turbo and mani? td04/15g turbo
THanks

now maybe someone will look at this thread

i disconnected the wastegate actuator at took a cruse. it seemed to boost better. and then i put it back on and it seemed better... maybe my car was drunk yesterday?

But boost still falls short in high RPMs, would a boost controller help with this?

I would be willing to bet anything it's a boost leak. I had the exact same thing happen to me. One of the connecting hoses for my piping had a hole in it, and it was leaking air. Turn the car on a open the throttle a bit and feel or listen for any leaks.

That could be the problem as well.
