Reading boost but no boost
Hey everyone...I am having a major problem now..dammit...lol..don't we all..anyway..the problem is no matter if i am on low boost (5psi) or high boost (13psi) I am not getting any...when I punch the gas or should I say when I go into boost the gauge reads 5psi if i am doing low boost or 13psi if I am running high boost but I am not feeling the boost...the car hesitates when it tries to go on boost...the gauge says its getting boost but I don't feel any...the car kinda boggs and hesitates...and I am not going lean at all...anyone know what could be wrong?

where is your gauge getting a boost source from? If its not the intake mani, you could have a charge pipe leak or something between the throttle body and where ever your boost source is from. If your gauge sees boost from the intake mani then you have a tuning issue.

your definately really rich. The 12:1 fmu was made to be used with stock injectors. Maybe you can take some out on the emanage.

My guage is getting the reading from the intake manifold vacumm line..its coming from the hose right on the manifold after the throttle body where it goes to the fuel pressure regulator

Another thing is that it was working fine yesterday and then all of a sudden when I tried to boost today thats when it started acting up...i changed the spark plugs thinking that could of been it but nothing...

sounds like a tuning issue... too much fuel I would say off the top of my head also.
do you have any other way to confirm or deny the gauges accuracy?

Check all your charge pipes. That happend to me once, i backed out of my drive way and scraped, didnt think anything of it until i wanted to boost and i wasnt going anymore cause when i scraped off of my driveway my charge pipe disconnected.
Good luck

The problem might be that your FMU can't get enough fuel from that intank pump. You might need a high pressure inline pump to give the FMU enough gas to do its job, but then you might run extremely rich with those injectors.

the fmu dont get fuel from your pump, it pressures the fuel lines while intank pump pumps against it while under pressure. a intank pump is better then a inline, keep the intank.
i never heard of prelude 345 injectors, are they stock? yeah, chances are, you are running rich. especially with those size injectors.
i have a fmu for now also and my fuel gauge reads lean when i punch it under boost, the fuel gauge drops back to lean, but the pressure rises up to 90 or 100psi under boost, so for sure, im getting engough fuel for now. stock injectors should be use with the fmu.

Re: (g2ls_turbo)
Yeah prelude injectors come stock 345cc and I believe its from the 96 vtec. So you guess think I am running to rich then..hmmm. I will take your word for it but for some reason I doubt it its that since I was boosting fine for about a week with the fuel pump...after I added the fuel pump I lasted a good week then one night I didn't feel boost...soo why would it work fine for a while and then all of a sudden be too rich for boost?...i mean you guys could be right but i just don't understand why it would do that all of a sudden if its been running fine...anymore suggestions guys...i am thinking of going to a dyno to get it fine tuned but i want to figure this out first...so what else can you guys suggest?

Re: (incognitoracerr)
you said you put in new spark plugs, were they gapped correctly? Most people with stock ignition systems and boost tend to run a little closer gap. Do a search for spark plug gap and see what most of the guys on here run.

Re: (BlueSi2k)
Hey I also forgot to mention I have had this really loud noise like a grind and it sounded like the tranny butttt today the noise got worse and I am more than sure its a pulley...do you think that is what may have an effect on my boost?

Re: (incognitoracerr)
maybe your brake caliper are frozen shut ,,,if your getting a reading of boost from your mani then your getting boost bottom line,,,,or maybe your fuel pump is dieing
