here's what happened:
about a week ago i notice my A/F meter not going form lean to rich like it used to (we all know how it bounces back and forth like some sort of rave show). it would only go one or two bars into rich.
then, i noticed that, at idle, it would stay in the lean area the whole time, never moving, but would go right to rich while accelerating.
last night i was driving on my way home and the car starting sputtering and jerking. while accelerating, it's fine.. but when i hold the pedal steady to cruise, i can feel it sputtering. also, my a/f gauge is STUCK on full rich.
so.. i'm thinking.. FMU? injector?
i get home and remove and plug the vaccum line for the FMU. this seems to help. now the a/f gauge bounces back and forth again.. though still only two bars into rich.. and the idle seems to still be a bit rough.
so.. my question:
should i totally remove the FMU to test how it runs? should disconnecting the vacuum line have been enough?
could it be my O2 sensor? back in the day i made about 10 runs on it with leaded gas (114).. so could that be the problem?
i'd like to get some opinions before i start ripping stuff out and spending money.
thanks guys, in advance.
