I heard from a local car shop that nitrous isn't good if left in the car due to weather conditions making the bottle hot and cold , hot and cold. So it's better to take it out and leave it in a constant room temperature somewhere in the house Is this true? And does nitrous have a shelf life. WIll it be good if its not used say for like a year from now.

I've had mine sit for 4-5 months and it was fine.

so long ast he nitrous stays compressed there isn't a shelf life. And weather conditions are not drastic enough to change the pressure within the bottle unless you live in the arctic or something.

Well, actually...the weather plays a BIG role when it comes to bottle pressure and such. Even on a 60 degree day, the trunk area gets pretty cold. I remembered going out to the night races and having a recently FILLED bottle. The gauge showed 1100psi when I first hooked it up earlier that day. But later on in the night, as the temperatures went down, I checked my bottle gauge and it's showing 950. (optimal bottle pressure, but I like it around 1000psi or higher)

That's why it's nice to have a bottle warmer to keep the bottle at the right pressure when you need it (especially those cold street racing nights) But then again, on one hot summer day @ the tracks, I saw someone's bottle blow off inside the cabin of their truck. LOL! That's when I decided to hook up the safety vent tube through the floor of my trunk.

How many full runs to like 3-4 gears can you guys pull off a 10 lbs bottle. for a 1995 LS integra. What are some 1/4 mile times also

It seems I usually get like 7-8 good passes on a 75 shot and then maybe a few weaker passes.

Over a certain period of time, the nitrous will turn into a gas. Not as good as its liquid form, it also does the same thing above 1150 psi. The temperatures outside will dramatically affect the nitrous, as long as you have a 3500psi wafer in the bottle valve then there is really nothing to worry about. Also never run a pressure to high for your fuel system. I only get about 4 good runs on a 150 shot, but thats 15lbs of N20, in a 10lb bottle of course. On the 70 shot, same fill, used to get about 12 or so runs.

What do you mean by a 3500 psi wafer in the bottle valve. Is there a link I can look at. So how long of a period of time will the nitrous turn into gas?

the wafer is the burst disk that goes in the safety valve. If bottle pressure hits 3500 it will pop the disk and empty out through the valve.

Why are you putting 15lbs of nitrous in your 10lbs bottle?

15lbs in a 10lb bottle would probally spray REALLY HARD!! I had a 20lb bottle and it was hard to keep the pressure up.

Yeah and if you don't blow up your engine you'll probably blow up your bottle or at least have the saftey blow off open and dump all your nitrous out in the car. There is a reason a 10lbs bottle is a 10lbs bottle.

That is pretty messed up. I'm not seeing how the hell you'd fit 5 extra lbs of liquid into a metal container designed to hold 10lbs. Either he gets his fills from God or he is forgetting to subtract the weight of the bottle from that 15 lbs.

I've heard of 12 lbs fitting inside a 10 lbs bottle but not 15.

oh yeah I mean if oxygen gets into the bottle will it ruin the shelf life for nitrous. Is that why they suggest turning off the bottle every time your not using it even in between runs.

I turn mine off when I'm not using it, mainly because I think it will make the lines last longer. Oxygen won't be able to get into your nitrous bottle besides what's already in there.
