Default NEWBIE question need an answer please!

Well my friend just got a 97 gst eclipse. Why cant you hear the turbo and bov when its not driving. Like just sitting there, and rev it, you cant hear the turbo spooling up.....why not?

Its because the car is not under load. When the car is under load, it produces more exhaust gases and therefore it spools up the turbo better.

depending on the bov, some can easily go off by just revving the motor and some don't.

my friend had an eclipse gst and you can hear the bov when you revved it up to redline. eclipse turbos are pretty small(t-25) so they spool up pretty fast compared to other turbos
