Default Newb-Turbo questions-vtec/non-vtec

Hi, I have a few questions on turbo setups etc...
And yes I know your goin to flame me with the search button
and have done some searching
I was thinking about buying a project car and have a few questions,
I have done research and have found that the ls engines are better for boost due to the low compression,
I have been looking around and for the price of an complete b16a2 motor swap it seems i could buy a complete b18b swap and be able to boost for around the same amount of money, I was wondering If I was to buy a b18b with 145 Bhp
and boost if I would come out with more Whp than an b16a2,
I do like vtec but I also know that I would rather have a good amount oh Hp than a
I was aso thinking about buying a newer- 4+ ls and was wondering If I could boost for around 1k+
my main goal would be 200Whp If possible I would like230-250WHp but 200 is good
I am not looking for something to race skylines or anything just some I could drive daily with a decent amount of HP

Thanks,

A B16 will make more peak horsepower than an LS motor. It starts off with more horsepower, so it'll make more horsepower when you force air into them. Either motor will make 200 WHP all day long without flinching. I'd run the LS motor, personally, as it's cheaper and produces more torque.

Ok, thanks
Would it be possible for a decent turbo setup for around 1k-1.5k
If 200WHP is easy all day how much more would it cost to bump it up to 230-250 WHP all day long remember I do not plan on building the internals of the motor
The main problem is the cost, I wont be able to afford a 3k+ turbo set up as I would rather spend it on the rest of the car
As I said My main question is the cost for the turbo set up
Thats all for right now, I am goin to go do more researching

Thanks,

It's possible to get it done for that amount of money. You'll probably have to junk yard some stuff but I'd say it's doable. Just make sure that whoever is doing this knows what they are doing. If it's gonna be you then do as much research as you can and when you think your done, do some more.

The 89' hatch in My sig cost me between $3500 and $4k to build (including the price of the car). It was my daily driver and it had a stock B18b longblock in it. It was managed by Uberdata. IMO, with enough time, effort and, research you can make very reliable power for a reasonable price and amaze yourself!!!!! I never got it on the dyno but, the car weighed 2300 and trapped 110mph.
