New project need advice before starting.
Im starting a new turbo project and was wanting to get a couple of pointers. I have already purchased a set of 10:1 pistons and a set of Crower billet rods. My goal will be to have a 400whp street car. What Im wondering about is the stock sleeves in the B16, will they stay together under the amount of boost i am going to have to run to get to this goal. I am not willing to resleeve the block, so im just wondering if i am setting my goal a little high. If someone would share some info of some experiences i would appreciate it. Thanks
for the street, your goal is high....... re-sleeve, and I don't see any problems, just make sure you know what you're getting into, a 400hp streetcar isn't going to crap itself out with a big turbo and some forged stuff..... be prepared to A LOT of tuning and tweaking......... A LOT, and 10:1 pistons is damn high, i'd get some 9:1 pistons, and a resleeve, 10:1 and stock sleeves is asking for it, remeber-- cheap and turbo should never go together, for high hp that is
Anyone else? What should be a reasonable goal then. Im starting to think that i should just sell the rods and pistons then. We have guys out here now days that are pushing 300+ on stock bottom ends. What about block guard?
