Default New plugs...very white?

I just put new plugs in my turbo hatch. i went with NGK BKR7E. im running a basemap until i go get tuned. I went out and made some pulls and checked the plugs. they were white as new and the electrode was burnt white. seems like its running lean. car is running good and sounds good. i thought basemaps were made to run rich. i put my otherchip i have that tuned on Chrome in and still the same thing. car runs the same on both chips. the motor is a fresh rebuild with new pistons and rings. so my q is will the plugs be white for awhile until they get wore or is this thing running very lean?

You're running on a basemap?

Who knows how it's running! If you have no wideband and you're out doing pulls on a basemap, you're just asking to pop your new motor.

Just becuase you have a basemap dosent mean if you drive the car and hit boost you wont be running way to rich or way to lean. In fact i'll put my money on the fact that if you are hitting boost untuned your probually doing damage to the motor and running lean... Go get tuned man untill than i wouldn't drive the car.

im doing pulls now cause im trying to fix a prob with my wastegate...i just pulled the plugs to check. but just because its a basemap that doesnt mean that the ignition wasnt touched. it should run just as rich in boost. like .8 or so per psi retarded in timing.

are you shutting the car off right after you do the pull? unless you do a full WOT pull and shut the car off you cant really read the spark plugs...the idle screws it up...hope you have a wideband in that thing...
