Default new howling noise under light boost

In the past few months I noticed as I press the throttle lightly the car begins to accelerate and a faint howling starts building up as boost does. When I depress the throttle, the howling fades (as opposed to just stops), as if something was wound up and has momentum creating a slower reduction. Its more cconsistent with turbo pressure than engine or vehicle speed, leading me to believe its turbo related.

The noise is too faint for video or recording, but very noticeable when in the car.

Background:
K20a3
Precision SC34 turbo (rebuilt by precision within last year/2000 miles)
Tial 38mm wastegate
Greddy bov
Motor 83k miles, boosted 40k miles/8 years

Howling most likely. Noises like this are difficult to troubleshoot online but i'm gonna take a shot here and say there is something up with the greddy bov. Tighten down the spring preload and see if anything changes.

I think I get what youre saying. Anyhow, it ended up being one of my intercooler couplers being loose when I got "howling" under boost.

BOV is good. It sounds similar (if not the same) as a loose intercooler piping coupler, but I checked them all and still haven't found anything. Also, any time I have had leaky intercooler piping it was obvious that boost was affected which doesn't seem to be the case now.

I'll keep looking. Thanks for the help

Check the 6 bolts that hold the compressor cover to the back plate. My old SC34 leak by there once.

They were a little loose.
