New Custom 3" Exhaust Installed!
I have been running a turbo on the civic with the tiny, restrictive factory exhaust...........until now!!!
I just had a local shop set me up with a full stainless 3" system, the cat is HISTORY, no resonator either. The muffler is a 3" Flowmaster Deltaflow 40 Stainless. I finished it with a 3.5" polished stainless angle-cut rolled-edge tip. It looks great, not ricey at all, and the sound.....holy mother of......
It is uber-deep, uber-aggressive, and fairly loud as well. To me, it is perfect. I wanted something that would really flow and allow my turbo to do its job better. I think we can say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

I second that. I would really like to know cos I have the factory crap on there at the mo and I think it is really restricting the airflow big time. i am thinking of going for a 3" straight through as well...
Pics, sound clips....

Re: New Custom 3" Exhaust Installed! (TurboSedan)
I can relate I just picked up a 3" mandrel system myself. No cat, or resinator and a Apexi N1 muffler. I made the 3" down pipe myself and that thing is LOUD......
It screams at 12psi wide open

Re: New Custom 3" Exhaust Installed! (Midwestrider)
Thanks!
I spool more boost than before, was hitting 8psi with the Joe P MBC, now I hit 9psi just from going to 3". The spool rpm for 9psi is about 3700 rpms. I was getting full boost, 8psi, with the stock exhaust by about 4700 rpm.

Re: New Custom 3" Exhaust Installed! (TurboSedan)
tempting me to get a 3" now. I have a 2.5" turbo back (well 2.5" downpipe, 2.5" testpipe and 2.5" catback) with a magnaflow muffler and it sounds decent. I can just imagine the power difference and spoolup difference between stock vs 3". when I went from just my stock cat with the 2.5" exhaust to a 2.5" testpipe... my spoolup got a lot better and it held more boost. Pre-testpipe it would only hold about 5psi... with the testpipe it held all 6.5psi nicely. man. love the car (same turbo and manifold as me )
