Default New clutch question

So my car is supposed to have a clutchmasters stage 3 in it. I am almost positive I need a new clutch now b/c in 4th and 5th gear I try to accellerate hard and the rpms just go up and the car stays the same speed. I need a new clutch correct?

My main question though, is do I need to purchase an entire new clutch kit, ie disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, etc. Or can I save my money and just get a new disk. Also, if I can just get a new disk and install it, does it have to be the same brand disk as the pressure plate is????

save your self some headache and buy a new kit, the price of resurfacing it can be as much as a new one.

resurfacing the clutch???? If you are talkin about resurfacing the flywheel, im already aware of that. I need to know if I can just replace the clutch disk itself.

resurcing the pressure plate, besides, you will know the kit will drop right in rather than use the same pp with other brand disk. or get the same one (disk)

I wasnt aware that PPs ever needed to be resurfaced. Well I want to get some other opinions on whether or not you can interchange different bran clutch disks and pressure plates.

I use an ACT Xtream pressure plate and pucked disc. I replaced my unsprung disc with a sprung disc after it got wore out. Works just fine cost me $135 to replace.
