New boosted gsr...some questions.
O.k guys, for those of you with the Tial WG and no boost controller, how much are you reading on the boost gauge ? I have the 6.5 PSI WG and by time the boost goes thru the intercooler, I get around 5 - 5.5 PSI. Is this normal ? And man that dump tube is loud !!! Sounds like a bike engine or my lawn mower. But the BOV sounds so sweeeeet ! Any tips for a new darksider ?

That is called pressure drop and it is normal since you have that big intercooler. All ya can do is live with it till ya turn up da boost!!!

TurboInteg95 is right - tap the wastegate vacuum line after the IC, it will read boost after the 2 psi drop from the IC, then it will bost correctly.

Thanks for the info guys. But I asked one of these shops, and they said that if you tap it after the intercooler, I assume from the intake manifold, then you'll get some boost creep and boost lag. Any thoughts on this ?

Well if you use the intake mani as a source of boost reading, I'd think it'd be as accurate as possible since it's a direct measure of what it actually going into the motor, which is of course the most important reading.

If you take a look at mine, you'll see that the lines are going from the wastegate to the boost controller solenoids, then to the intake maifold.

i thought that you need to connect the side of the wastegate to the compressor fitting and the top to the solenoid then the other part of the solenoid goes to the intake manifold. why do you have one part of your wastegate (the side port) going to the manifold?

Re: New boosted gsr...some questions. (GruvyTune)
the IC is the spearco one that comes with the kit.
I don't know why its hooked up like that - its just what my mechanical guru told me to do, I did it, and it works great!!
