the thing with the hondata is that when you do the fan override and set it at like 180 lets say..it turns on and stays on, i might just set it at 190..this way when temps go down to 190 or so it will atleast shut off for a bit.

Exactly what I did. 13" pusher SPAL on a Mishimoto rad set to come on at 180 and a Mugen t-stat. Wrapped my manifold, exhaust, A/C lines and threw a blanket on the turbo and I stay at 179-182 all day long. Get up to about 190 under heavier boost and highway.

yea i couldn't find any either, also what kind of mounting hardware are you using? this CXracing setup doesn't look too bad, the CFM is decent and its a 3 row

best thing i did to my boosted teg was went and bought a heater core and stuck it up front by the fmic and just ran my heater core hoses from my stock core to that one and now my car stays at 182-185 all day and its 100degrees here in texas and it dont matter if im at a light or stuck in traffic it dont move! fan comes on at 183 and it hits 185 then back off

the fan most of us are using is spal part# 30102044 (like SDhonda linked above). you can look on ebay or www.the-fan-man.com as well. remember that you will need to run a new relay to handle the amp draw of the fan.

also www.spalusa.com has a full listing of their products where you can find dimensions and flow charts of every fan to meet your needs.

as far as mounitng, get a shorud and mount it to that. even that ebay fan w/ shroud is probably better than no shroud at all. but i guarantee that cx racing 12" does NOT flow 2100cfm.

the CX racing setup i posted comes with a fan rated at 1200 CFM, the 2100 was referring to RPM's..doesn't the fact that its a 3 row count for anything?

regardless of the radiator you are using, you will still overheat if no airflow is getting to it. thats why a strong fan w/ shroud helps to counter-act the lack of airlfow due to the FMIC blocking up the grill and turbo components heat soaking the engine bay.

im sure that CX racing rad is a decent piece. comboed with a good fan/shroud it will probably work fine. whether or not the included components are up to the job, i cant really say. i know my spal 13" works so im sticking with that.

I'm gonna run the car up in the mountains this weekend and see how temps get..weather is supposed to be really cool. Then make a decision on what to pick up.

the current fix right now for boosted hondas overheating is without a doubt the spal fan... it flows more than any other fan on the market... look at guys like tony 1 running around 1000 horsepower and he doesnt even get over 200 degree temp in his car after a pass at the track... the fan clearly has proven its worth...

it also makes our cars sound like an airplane when you pull in a garage!!!

lol my car sounded like an airplane already with the blower, the intake makes a loud whistling sound at idle from all the air being sucked through

here's a question..what would make this mishimoto without the shroud about 60 bucks more then this CX racing? the CX racing is a 3 row and comes with a shroud.

i don't get it?

i think mishimoto trys to promote themselves as a better quality part. whether or not their stuff is any better than cx racing, i don't know. either way you get a low flowing 12" slim fan. it may or may not help your cooling issues. i dont think the car should ever see above 190 while in motion and 200 when idling. 220 is overheating for our cars.

aright don't shoot me, but i think i'm gonna go for this CX racing, it doesn't seem like a bad setup and I'm in dire need of a new radiator anyway 200 clams doesn't seem all 3 items may not be that bad..i'll be the guinea pig, who knows maybe some other people will benefit off this cheaper setup if all goes well for me lol.

The 3 row is garbage. I had it and my **** overheated faster then the stock half core Ihad on there. I thought it might have been my setup. but the other guy I sold it to apparently had overheating problems to.
