New 3" exhaust and now boost is screwed!
I just put a 3" exhaust on and now i cant control the boost anymore. I dropped off the car with my blitz dual sbc spec s set for 8psi. When i picked it up the boost shot to 16psi, WTF? I thought maybe they played with the controler, so i checked, they didn't. Ive checked my wastegate (turbonetics delta gate) and its working properly. I've also replaced the vaccum lines running from the the manifold to the silinoid for the boost controler and from that to the wastegate. I hit 21psi the other day. When i unhook the boost contoler and try to run it straight off the wastegate i get the same problem. So im out of ideas, its driving me up the wall. No one wants to touch my car since its not stock, everyones affraid. If anyone has any suggestions please give me any input that you have, i need it. Thanx.
Car setup
99 integra se
Drag 3 kit
ls/vtec
9:1 bottom end
jdm b16a1 head
450 dsm injectors w/ resistor pack
hondata stage 2b untuned (since i cant' control the boost)

I would check that wastegate again. I don't think the 3in exhaust is a problem. IMO Double check the vaccum line

Definetly a combination of 2 things.
First being that your running a crappy deltagate, second being the DRAG3 manifolds are known for causing boost spikes when running 3" exhaust due to wg placement.

Re: New 3" exhaust and now boost is screwed! (turbo se)
So what should i do then, go back to my 2.25 exhaust like i had before? Like i said the wastegate was hooked up and tested (acutal on another car) and its fine, it held 7psi. I don't believe its the wastegate no matter how many people think their crap (and they probably are), its working so i don't want to upgrade until the time comes when it broken for sure. I don't want to down grade to a smaller diameter exhaust, but if it will fix the problem i sure as hell will. Any other comments at all guys?

Racegate or Tail wastegate suitable replacement?

is the boost just climbing infinitely or always stopping at the same amt? i would say check lines to wg to make sure they're not being pinched or squished.

that's what i was thinking. If the boost stops dead at 16 psi its probably something wrong with the boost controller install. Also check and see if quite a bit of exhaust comes out of the dumptube/wastegate exit, if it is then you'll need to replace the wastegate, as the "plunger" is stuck in one spot.
if boost keeps climbing, check the lines etc.

do u know anyone with a Tial wastegate you can switch and see if it fixes the problem? Also what size is your downpipe?

Is the boost controller a bleeder, or an EBC?
If it's EBC, there is probably a set of switched like the Profec line for overboost, and inter/external setups.
I had some problems with mine at first, and changed it to the external wastegate type, and changed a few vacuum lines and presto, the 'crappy' Deltagate worked fine up to 15-18 PSI.
Deltagates are FINE, just keep you eye on the boost when it gets a little aged.

i had my boost set to 8 but it jumps to 10.5 psi with open dp....just lower your boost on your controller

what boost gauge are u running...? is it a mechanical one...?
the gauge maybe giving incorrect readings...this is a long shot though...
more then likely its the wastegate not opening and closing properly...
this exact thing happened to me....
did u get a new dump-pipe fitted...? make sure it isnt interfering with the WG in anyways.....
im surprised that u havent blown an engine if its boost upto 20+psi!
