Default boost keeps spiking?? what could it be?

I have ls vtec setup with drag kit and upgraded precision sc34 turbo. I was at CMI and notice my boost to spike to 15psi so I let go pedal at track. Btw I have Turbonetics delta wastegate. Could be the wastegate causing the problem? What do you guys recommend? I am also running rich when I spike to 15psi

If you plan on raising your boost levels than yes get a boost controller, as far as your boost creep, Id'e say it probualy due to your wastegate. I've never used the delta gate but i've herd nothing but bad about them. So bad wastegate + poor waste gate location on the drag manifolds could equal boost creep. Get a Tial and it will probually go away

Notorious problem for the Drag Manifold. swap it out for a better manifold i believe blox makes one with the center mount wastegate. and im sure the delta gate is contributing to your problem as well havent really seen anyone run a delta gate since back in 2001 ish

Yeah blox dose have a mani were the wastegate is in the collector insted of in the runner. weather you switch mani or not change the wastegate

Well not everyone who runs a drag mani has problems. Are you useing a delta gate or a tial. At low boost with a tial and that mani in theory you should be fine. But there are plenty of storys with people running thoes manifolds and having issues. In Eklsv-t case he's running 15 psi and deff should get a tial and it will probually clear the problem but someone mentioned blox and all i was getting at was if you like the drag mani and everything fits fine blox makes almost the same kind just with a better waste gate location.

I had a Drag manifold and a Tial 35mm wastegate with a SC50, boost creeped from 15psi to 17psi consistently.

With an InlinePro manifold, Tial 44mm gate, and a GT40R, no boost creep problems at all.

What kind of boost controller are you using? With the drag manifold I used a Turbosmart single stage controller, with the other set-up I used a Turbosmart E-Boost 2 electronic boost controller.
