Hi guys need your advice. I currently have a gsr trans i dont want to go ls but i want to be able to get atleast 140-145 in 4th gear. so a couple of guys adviced me on doing ls 3-5 with gsr final drive, would'nt it be better to just get an ls final drive on the gsr gears. anyone with experience on either of these set-ups?what do either of these set-up run on the top of 4th gear (mph wise) on a 24" tire.What should i do.

My advice
Take this topic and move it to the proper forum aka transmission forum

 

The LS 4th on a 4.4 final drive with a 9K rpm rev limit should yield you around 154mph on a 24.5. The GSR 4th in the same setup would net about 10mph less.

The straight GSR trans on the LS FD, all other factors the same, would split the difference between the other two boxes. It should put you in at 149mph in a perfect world.
