Need some help from turbo gurus or car gurus in general
I have a boosted Y5. Ill get the specifics out of the way (kinda long, has cliff notes)
Greddy TD04
Greddy IC
Greddy BOV
7PSI
AFC-Hack (dsm 450) (settings straight from Hack thread)
NGK BKR7E gapped to .030
Oil isnt milky
Car doesnt smoke
I was boosting fine for awhile. Car pulled HARD. Everything was fine until one day my car started shutting off by itself. I would be at a light or stop sign and my carw ould just stall. Pull the plugs...they arent bad except the cylinder one spark plug....it is black as **** and caked in oil. I clean the plugs, buy some new grommets from Honda and try again...no luck. So I have been driving liek that for two weeks...I know I know but I HAVE to drive my car to work (1 mile). So anyway I am about to sell my **** because of that and my erratic idle AND because I started overheating the other day (only after a roundtrip highway drive...after letting the car/turbo cool down). Oil is not milky. Coolant is clean..nice and green
So fast forward to today. I buy a compression tester. Here are my numbers
160, 180, 180, 180 (4-1. left to right....whatever). Book says minimum is 135, max is 180, variance is plus or minus 28...so I am good. My method was ...holding at full throttle, cranking the car 5 times for 5 seconds each crank. Cylinder 4 kinda scares me but I am within range, should I be concerned
I also realized I had the firing order wrong me=dumbass.
My question is, would/could/should the oil in my spark plug hole be caused from internal damage.
Also hear is another dumb *** thing. I hear everyone say to use the BKR7E NGK.....2 steps colder right.....the HX is the ONLY civic (96-00) that uses a 4 series plug./ So right now I am 3 steps colder. IS that bad. What kind of problems could that present.
Cliff notes:
car stalls at idle
used 3 step colder spark plugs
had firing order wrong
car has erratic idle
cylinder one has oil in it
spark plugs black as ****
Compression results are 160, 180, 180, 180

I'm no guru.. but y5 owns j00.
Did you retard your timing? Dizzy wise?
Towards the front of the car. You're supposed to retard a certain degree per pound of boost. That's part of Fuel management also. Or engine management anyway.
