Ok so I needed to get a feedline so I went through mcmaster just see how good there lines are. I got what I thought was a 3/16 in diatmer which is equal to a -3an line. But as you can see the hole on the left is a lil bigger than the one on the right.
The left is from mcmaster, the right is from an oil distribution line kit from Stan. I think this is a -3an could be wrong though. Any help with this....

yeah thats what I figured too, but I've double checked the part number on the one from mcmaster and it's suppose to be the 3/16 one. So I'm not sure... maybe Mcmaster messed up and gave me the wrong one. But not sure really how to tell

they could have sent the wrong one, my mcmaster 3/16in line screwed perfectly into any -3an fitting

I think they did, cause I tried to screw it into a -3an fitting I have and it was too big.

its hard to tell the actual size of the fitting from your picture. why dont you try going down to a local performance shop and ask them to see a -3an male fitting and see if yours threads on.

-3AN = 3/16" Outer Diameter, not the hole inside

but it also is how big in diameter the line itself is as well. Thanks for all the input keep it coming

3/16 = inner diameter, not outter . Mcmaster shows a .321" OD for their 3/16 ID line.

damn... if the union on the end doesnt fit onto a known -3 line, its def too big

do you have a micrometer? Did you try putting small drill bits into the end?

Yeah I did put the drill bits in there I know the outside that screws in would be 1/4 but the hole on the inside is bigger than the other i have on the pics. The one on the right is def a -3an. But they said it was the right part number when I talked to them

are you sure you got one wthe an fitting on the end? you probably ordered it with an npt fitting.i was looking on mcmaster.com last night too trying to peice together my own oil feed and thats what i plan on ordering the 3/16 steel braided line with 1\8 male npt fitting on the end i was gonna do it with an fittings on the end like everyone else but i came across this first,it works out better for me because i wont have to buy any an-npt fittings

you can see clearly on the one that he got from mcmaster that there is an angle on the inside of the fitting, for a flare style fitting to seal against. if he were to put a normal male 1/8npt, the flare wouldnt be sealing against anything and the fitting would be leakin all over the place.

the one I bought came with the flare fittings at both ends. This will be for a feed line to a turbo, though i know -3an is the most commonly used, I've alos seen many people run a -4an. I might just send this one back eventhough I don't want to go through the hassle.
