Default Need some help Asap

my belt tensioner bolt is stripped out. anyone have any ideas on how to take it out. i tried everything and its pretty much exactly round now. anyone got any good ideas??? thanks in advance

Go to Sears or a hardware shop and they should have a special socket that should get that son of a bitch out for you

Yup they have special tools that look like sockets. Made especially for taking off stripped bolts.

yea i bought one. kinda looks like a drill bit but it goes over the socket. used that and it just completely rounded the nut

start chiseling the bolt around. It's a pain in the ***, but effective.

yep. have at it. The idea is to notch the sides of the rounded bolt head, and use the notches to tap it around.....not to chisel the head off. Just want to be clear on that, because you never know.

No, basically read a few posts up and go buy the right tool for the right job so you dont have to do it a second time!

thanks for the help guys. i tried everything and nothing worked so i just completely cut the head off all the way down to where nothing would hold the tensioner down. pulled the tensioner off. the bolt was just sticking out so i just unscrewed it with my hands and it came out easily. after that it was an easy 15 mins to put the car back together
