Default need some advise with turbo hitting block

i am putting in a turbo (t3/t4) and i have ground out the webbing on the block but the compressor is still tuching the block.... i dont know what to do anymore.... will it affect anything if thare is no clearance ???? my other option is to make a spacer for the flange so it will push the turbo back a bit???
what would u guys recomend??

It's worth a try but maybe you can add another gasket inbetween the turbo and the manifold, or better yet maybe another manifold gasket between the head and the manifold. I don't know how many gasket you might have to use. Just a thought though.

I have never understood this. Almost everyone running a turbo honda is having a custom downpipe made anyway. Turn the turbo around (clock it) and have the inlet facing the drivers side. Problem solved. The people that fabricate your downpipe won't care and you won't have to grind anything.

how come not alot of people do that?, turning the other way, wouldn't that affect AC and that stuff if your manifold allows you to keep ac ?

A/C is the reason, you're right... I guess I just figure people wouldn't mind getting rid of it.

Anyway you can probably keep shaving, I've seen some block/tranny with a whole lot taken off and they were OK.

I seriously doubt you've done as much grinding as I had to do, and I don't feel like I compromised the strength of my block at all...

Let me scrounge up my old post.

Also, I couldn't flip my turbo around, because the turbine side would have been IN the radiator. ED chassis = NO space!

so is it only people with b16s having problems, arent people with b18c's having problems with turbo hitting the webbing also, i was reading one of the links in their from Art's old post, and said somthing that if people choose the correct manifold and turbo they wouldn't have this problem?
