need some advice/info on a possible ring problem
well guys i spoke to soon, after boosted-hybrid tuned my hondata , (quick rundown: hondata 2b, 98 gsr swap, 550cc injectors, full drag gen 3 kit, TIAL gate, turbonetics t3/t4, stock internals, 93 si) i was really loving my car,, the **** ran 12.80 at 110 on 13inch lensos with a weak *** 22 inch all-motor sized slick, spinning off the line shitty 60fts,,, also weighing in at 2447 pounds with me in it, ful interior and sway bars and all that ****!!! so needless to say i was happy about everything,,,, then the other night i killed this truck with a blown 5.0 cobra motor in it, then i pulled over to actually turn down the boost, when i noticed white smoke coming from the breather,,, **** my pants,,,went home, did compression test,,, got 190 in every cylinder except number 3, got about 120 psi,,,, **** pants again,, i was so ****** mad,, and i got a legit motor too, wtf?somebody please give me some advice on where to start, should i keep this block and attempt to build it, or i actually have a chance to get a Bensons built sleeved block for about 2500,,, i dont know what to do,, can somebody tell me how i can tell exactly what is fucked up on cylinder3?? i know a leakdown test is in order, where and who can do that???? any help/suggestions/advice or people that have built blocks for sale let me know
thanks
Dave

Well your engine is on the way out. You should build your block up. Send it out for GE or darton sleeves, pistons, rods. While you have the motor apart might as well do the bearings (rods, and mains) and other maintenance items..
that race cost you #3 piston. :\
Do what you can afford, that shortblock sounds like a good idea, since you've got all the other "proper" turbo parts...
