Re: post up about your STOCK motor Boosted wonder !!! (project dc2)
My stock gsr was a wonder. Somewhat. I ran for a little bit over a year stock block drag 3 kit. Never tuned, on a inline+fmu setup. Boosted HARD everyday redlining at 7 pounds. And ran strong.
BUT one magic day and I blew the headgasket, warped head, cracked ringlands, and hairline crack in sleeve. Moral of the story, tune your car.

2001 Integra GSR
10,000 miles on it...
dragIII "kit", 9psi with a 12:1 fmu+stock injectors = fried ringlands.
but i did pull a 13.8@101 with stock exhaust/tires. not too bad.
all it took was one hot day at bakersfield. stupid me.

Amen.
Where's DIRep972? He should chime in on this thread. He has a stock motor LS, turbocharged w/Hondata and runnin' 12s.

I boosted My civic for over 4 years and never blew an engine. I had a ZC running 8 psi for about 1 year. Then I went to a B18a for about a year. Then a B18B. All my engines where fine and running when I pulled them. When I finally sold my car it had the B18B with a T3/T4 running 10 PSI. It was pretty dam fast!
And I used a Zdyne + 450 cc injectors.

Direp unfortunately is out of town for about another week. He made 230/200 on original fmu setup and ran 13.3 with bfg's, then he upgraded to hondata and 550cc and had even more success(12.8 @ 109-110. Sometimes it's not a matter of a "wonder". I would say first if you have the right parts with the combination of good tuning and turbo honda's will continue to be more and more reliable .

Re: post up about your STOCK motor Boosted wonder !!! (trboCIVIC&WRX)
Yeah, it's all in the tuning. I ran a ZC at 10 psi for 2 years and only had a leaking headgasket. Now the B18b has been running at 14psi for a few months so far. Before that it ran on 7psi for seven months untuned. Silly me. I'm just glad I made it through that period.

Re: post up about your STOCK motor Boosted wonder !!! (project dc2)
I ran a completely stock JDM b18c in my '93 si hatch (the heaviest of the 5th gen hatchies) with nothing but a dragIII kit... 13.003 @ 110MPH at thehighest track in the nation (bandimere, over 5000ft elevation).
Ran it for ~1.5 years, and it never blew until I went standalone . The problem was that I tuned it with a bad wideband connection (long story), but the WB said I was running 12:1 (under boost) when I was really running something more like 14:1. ouch.

Stock 94 B18C1, 7psi off an 18G with 450s/AFC, 100k miles when boosted, now at ~107k, 224hp/183tq @ 11:1 AFR, compression still over 200psi in each cylinder. Runs great.

Re: post up about your STOCK motor Boosted wonder !!! (servion)
i made 361 hp and about 280 tq on my stock b18c1 head and block. i used a 3mm headgasket, fmu, afc, 440's, and stock ecu. tuned on 116 octane. made close to 300 on 93 octane. this was about 3 years ago. made 150+ passes at the track on that motor, drove it to work everyday, and played around at night with it at the local races. proper maintenence and tuning is the key to a long motor life.

yeh kinda, wasn't even boosting. Spun a bearing doing some "road racing." Not completly sure what the culprit was, but I was going around this hard corner pretty high in the RPM's and my oil pressure light flashed on for a sec. The next day came the clank clank clank. Im guessing it lost oil pressure in the corner and starved a bearing for oil. I knew I shoulda got one of those Mugen oil pans w/ the extended baffles in it Im putting in another stock LS motor when I get back from out of town. I may or may not boost the new motor but I am definitly gonna start building something soon. thanks Iggy for posting whats up, ill be back in town in about a week and a half.

i have a d16y8,stock internals, with an mf2 inj controller, 2 mm headgasket, blockguard, tuned but not perfectly due to lack of knowledge of the mf2, i got 215hp/ 185 lbs trq at 14psi...
i know that when i dyno the car again with the mf2 tuned from turbonetics, the guys at turbonetics said i should hit 230-240hp at 14psi
im hoping for 13's.........
bad things: turbo blew had to buy another one from arturbo...a precision!!

What is there really to tune on an FMU/missing link setup...well besides messing with timing?
